Dr. Christ A. Balouris graduated from the University of Pittsburgh
School of Medicine. He completed his Medical internship at Evanston Hospital, Northwestern
University in Illinois.
Dr. Balouris finished his residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
He spent a year as a Clinical Instructor and Director of the Corneal
Eyebank at St. John Ophthalmic Hospital
in Jerusalem, Israel. Currently, he is a Clinical Instructor at The
University of Pittsburgh in the
Department of Ophthalmology. Dr. Balouris is active in many professional
organizations on the local, state, and national level. He is also active
in his community and church.
Dr. John C. Maher is a graduate of Georgetown University Medical School in Washington, D.C. He did his internship in Internal Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina. He did his residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
Dr. Maher's education & professional experience includes a fellowship in cataract surgery with Dr. William Collis in Lexington, Kentucky from 1982-1983.
He has served as an Associate Clinical Professor at 3 Pittsburgh hospitals. He has served as President of the Pa. Academy of Ophthalmology as well as serving on the Board of Directors. He has been a Counselor and Diplomat for the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Maher has served on the board for the Allegheny County Medical
Society and for the Pittsburgh Ophthalmology Society.
Since 1983 he has been a member of many professional organizations .

Dr. Andrew Krouner is a graduate of Harvard University.
He received his medical degree from George Washington University
School of Medicine. In 1988, Dr. Krouner completed his Ophthalmology
residency at the Naval Hospital in Bethesda, MD.
Dr. Krouner has a special interest in glaucoma as well as medical diseases
of the eye. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Krouner has interests in sports, running, and skiing.
He is available for appointments at our Wexford and Shadyside locations.

Dr. John R. Kerr graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Natural Sciences and Mathematics from Indiana University of Pa. He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1995 from The Pa. College of Optometry in Philadelphia, Pa. Upon graduation, Dr. Kerr was employed with George Washington University Department of Ophthalmology in Washington, D.C. and The Wilmer Eye Institute at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Kerr provides primary Optometric care including contact lenses. He is therapeutically certified in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Optometric Association, Western Pennsylvania Optometric Society, and The American Optometric Association. He enjoys spending time with his family and is an avid sports fan.
